Online Counselling Services
Professional, confidential counselling for individuals and couples, provided by a Registered Counsellor under the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA),
Why Online Counselling?
Online counselling offers a flexible, accessible way to receive professional mental health support. Sessions are conducted in a confidential and structured manner, similar to in-person counselling. This format may be beneficial for individuals with busy or demanding schedules, those who travel frequently, or those who prefer the convenience of attending sessions from a familiar and comfortable environment.
All that is required is a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a suitable private space. This format makes counselling more easily integrated into daily life, while reducing common barriers such as travel, time constraints, and accessibility.

Payment
Sessions may be claimed from medical aid depending on your available benefits with your health scheme, including providers such as Discovery Health Medical Scheme and others. I am able to submit claims to medical aid on your behalf, or clients may choose to pay privately and submit the invoice themselves for possible reimbursement.
Clients are responsible for all payments related to counselling sessions and for ensuring that their medical aid details and benefits are up to date. Reimbursement from medical aid will depend on your specific plan and available benefits.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a Registered Counsellor and a Psychologist?
A Registered Counsellor (RC) focuses on primary mental health intervention, prevention, and health promotion. We work with individuals facing “life challenges” like stress, grief, and relationship issues to improve their daily functioning. Psychologists typically handle more complex, long-term clinical diagnoses.
Is online counselling as effective as in-person sessions?
Yes, online counselling research suggests it is for many concerns, such as managing burnout or navigating grief. Online counselling is just as effective as sitting in a room together. It offers the added benefits of being in your own comfortable space and removing the stress of a commute.
How do I know if I need a counsellor?
There is no “problem too small” for support. If you feel overwhelmed, stuck in a “downward spiral,” or simply want to understand your boundaries better, a counsellor can provide a safe, non-judgmental space to process those feelings before they become unmanageable
What can I expect during our first session?
Our first meeting is an “intake session.” We will discuss what brings you to counselling, your goals for our time together, and any questions you have about the process. It’s a gentle way to see if we are a good fit for one another.
How many sessions will I need?
Every journey is unique. Some individuals find clarity in 4 to 6 online sessions, while others prefer ongoing support over several months. We will regularly check in to ensure the pace and frequency of our sessions meet your needs.
