Welcome! As a Registered Counsellor (HPCSA) at Jenny Claire Counselling, I am dedicated to making mental health resources accessible and practical. This space is designed for psychoeducation—offering evidence-based insights, coping strategies, and developmental tools to help you navigate life’s daily challenges. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge needed to enhance your psychological well-being and personal functioning.

To support your mental health journey, I share content focused on:
• Developmental Tools: Insights into personal growth, communication, and relationship dynamics.
• Coping Strategies: Practical techniques for managing stress, anxiety, and daily life transitions.
• Mental Health Awareness: Simplifying complex psychological concepts to reduce stigma.

In the field of mental health, knowledge is power. As a Registered Counsellor, my primary goal is to provide psychoeducation—the sharing of evidence-based psychological information in an accessible and empowering way. This shifts the focus from merely “fixing problems” to understanding the underlying processes of our emotions. By learning how the nervous system reacts to stress or how grief affects the brain, we replace shame with self-compassion.
Psychoeducation is essential for destigmatisation. Providing scientifically grounded information helps dismantle the myths that often hinder people from seeking help. Particularly in the South African context, where resources can be limited, this digital space offers a vital starting point for resilience. It equips you with a “psychological toolkit” to navigate life transitions and improve relationships, moving you from a state of uncertainty toward informed, proactive self-awareness.
My role focuses on primary psychological support and preventative interventions. This work is generally short-term and centered on:
A key part of my ethical duty is knowing when to refer, such as if a person presents with complex psychopathology or requires long-term clinical intervention. My role is to be your first point of contact, ensuring you are supported in the present and guided toward the correct specialised care if needed.
